regional development on national level

Regional development is not an isolated issue. In Vital Rural Area, local policy makers, residents and SMEs, as well as other local organisations - in the participating countries - will be informed by organising:

  • local awareness meetings
  • local public exhibitions

To engage other Interreg projects in the North Sea and Baltic Sea area, Vital Rural Area will organise a number of inter-project workshops. Represen- tatives from the regional and national level in Europe will be invited to attend these workshop to enable dissemination of the policy ideas on national level.

regional development on European level

Because regional development is also one of the EU top priorities, it is essential that policy results or policy ideas to be developed by Vital Rural Area and other related projects are being communicated and passed on to politicians and civil servants on European level too.

Contacts within the North Sea Commission and the Baltic Sea Commission will also be used to set up 'mirror projects' on rural development in the North Sea and Baltic Sea areas.
